Doug Shultz has been producing documentary films for Partisan Pictures since
2001 and is currently Partisan's Senior Producer. Most recently, he
produced and wrote the Peabody Award-winning film "Silence of the Bees for
the PBS series NATURE. Before that, Doug produced the eight-hour series
"Icons of Power" for National Geographic Channel, and wrote, produced &
directed the two-hour specials, "The Madness of Henry VIII" and "Napoleon's
Final Battle". Doug also wrote, produced & directed the award-winning 16mm
special "The French Revolution" for History Channel. Other History Channel
productions include the two-hour film "Quest for King Arthur", and the
EMMY-winning four-hour series "Russia: Land of the Tsars". Doug was also
Associate Producer on the Discovery Channel special presentation "New York
Firefighters: The Brotherhood of September 11th".
Prior to joining Partisan, Doug worked as Associate Producer on the
award-winning PBS specials "Beyond Human: the New Age of Cyborgs" and
"Androids and Voyage to the Milky Way", NOVA's "Runaway Universe",
Discovery Channel's Shark Week special, "Hammerheads: Nomads of the Sea",
Reader's Digest's "The Planets and Mysteries of Deep Space" and the
award-winning 13-part National Geographic series "Animal Edens".
Doug is currently hard at work on another film for NATURE about species
extinction, scheduled to premiere in Fall '08.
